SEAMLESS ALUMINIUM TUBES

AVAILABLE IN ALL ALLOYS

We can supply you with seamless aluminium tubes in all available commercial alloys. We have five extrusion presses which utilise a fixed mandrel, and these cover a wide range of dimensions with their different container diameters. The dimensional range for seamless extruded tubes extends from 17 mm to 300 mm.

We use the seamless extrusion method to process all of the commercially available alloys. In a subsequent drawing process, we can produce tubes with small outside diameters or thin wall thicknesses their final dimension.

DIRECT OR INDIRECT EXTRUSION

There are differences between direct and indirect extrusion. In direct extrusion, the main ram punch pushes the billet in a sliding motion along the inner surface of the container towards the die. This creates a high frictional force between the container and the aluminium billet.

In the indirect extrusion process, the container moves with the aluminium billet in the direction of the die. This eliminates the friction between the aluminium billet and the container. This allows alloys which are difficult to extrude by direct extrusion to be extruded at lower temperatures.
